Every rating is an opinion
You never see a player's true ability. You see your scouts' estimate of it, and how sure they are. The other 29 clubs price players through their own scouts, so every trade is two sets of mistakes meeting in the middle.
You own a baseball club. Your front office runs it day to day, and every big call lands on your desk. Every rating you see is your scouts' guess. Run out of money, or lose the board, and the club is sold out from under you.
For iPhone: coming to the App Store.
PENNANT is a text-based baseball management sim with 30 generated franchises. You buy one, then hire the twelve people who run it, from the general manager and the CFO down to the head trainer. They do the daily work with whatever judgment they actually have. The budgets, the hires, the trades, the free agents and the draft come up to you.
You never see a player's true ability. You see your scouts' estimate of it, and how sure they are. The other 29 clubs price players through their own scouts, so every trade is two sets of mistakes meeting in the middle.
A full business runs under the baseball: the gate, media deals, sponsors, payroll, the luxury tax, stadium projects and debt. Every season's profit or loss lands in your wallet, and a board counts the years you miss its mandate.
The game saves after every move, and there is no undo. When a club is gone, the Hall of Owners keeps the run, and your owner card follows you to the next franchise.
When the season ends, the game writes it up from your own books: the record, what you did, what went right and wrong, and what next year already owes. Save the card, copy it, and post it.
The phone version runs the same league engine as the Steam game, laid out in five tabs: Desk, Club, Money, Market and League. It plays offline, with no account and no ads, and keeps its save on your phone.
The phone and Steam versions keep separate saves. On the phone, The Pariah is the hardest job in the game and comes with no trophy to name. That prize belongs to the Steam game.
Bugs, questions and Pariah claims go to pennantsportsgame@gmail.com.
Steam players can also post in the PENNANT Steam Discussions.
